The Senate
About the Senate
The Senate is one of the two houses of the National Assembly. It consists of 109 Senators, 3 from each of the three states and one from the Federal Capital Territory. It is elected by proportional representation, so that its composition closely reflects the voting pattern of the electors.
The President of the Senate, Senator the Hon. Adolphus Wabara, is the presiding officer of the Senate whose chief function is to guide and regulate the proceedings in the Senate.
