Mr. Speaker: Hon. Members, I want to apologise for the late commencement of the sitting of this hon. House. This is as e result of the function we attended at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers.

ANNOUNCEMENTS 

Meeting

Mr. Speaker: Hon. Members from Anambra State will meet at the Committee Room on the righthand side of the House.

Receipt of Anti-Corruption Bill

Hon. Members, I have received one Bill from Mr. President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Head of the Executive arm of Government. The Bill is in fulfilment of Mr. President's promise to wage war on corruption. It is the Anti-corruption Bill. Copies will be made available to Members later and it will be formally presented here tomorrow.

VOTES AND PROCEEDINGS

Mr. Speaker: I have examined and approved the Votes and Proceedings of Tuesday, 22nd June, 1999. 

Hon. Florence Diya Aya (Kaura): Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to observe that the Votes and Proceedings of Tuesday, 22nd June, did not reflect the Motion on the Kafanchan crisis at all. Thank you.

Mr. Speaker: The Clerk should please take note and make this amendment. Thank you for your observation.

Private Issues Affecting Hon. Members

Hon. Mohammed Wakil (Damboa/ Gwoza/ Chibok): Mr. Speaker, Sir, Distinguished hon. Members, may I move a Motion that the gallery of this honourable House be cleared because this honourable House wants to discuss some private Issues affecting the Members. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want the National Assembly Staff to be included too.

Hon. Musa Abdullahi (Kaita/Jibia): Mr. Speaker, Sir, I hereby second the Motion that the gallery be cleared for the House to discuss some private issues. Furthermore, Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want the Press to be included in this exercise.

Question put and agreed to.

Resolved: That the gallery be cleared of non hon. Members for the House to discuss some private issues affecting hon. Members.

Hon Oladotun Animashaun (Kosofe): May I make an observation before I second the Motion for Adjournment. I want to appeal to the Speaker to please look at this side any time Members put up their hands. (Applause) I have been trying for the past four days to get your attention and I wonder why you will not see me with my size. (Laughter)
